What does the EBM/MASA do in Sierra Leone?

In Sierra Leone we are working together with our partner, the Baptist Convention of Sierra Leone (BCSL). Since 1991 this West-African country has been struck by a terrible civil war. Because of this our missionaries had to be evacuated from time to time, most recently at the end of 1998. Some of the ongoing missionary activities (medicare, education, community development, evangelism and church-growth) had to be suspended, while we have intensified the support of our Christian brethren in the area of hunger relief. However, even in the midst of war, the Gospel is being preached and people come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. We hope that soon it will be possible to send our missionaries back to Sierra Leone, or otherwise to establish a support-base in the neighbouring country of Guinea.
